Review your separate data-use choices
Open Data & personalisation
Go to Settings → Privacy & data → Data & personalisation.
Review AI sharing
Updated builds ask separately before sending the selected clip, photo, message, live audio or relevant dog/care context to Google Cloud AI. This account-level choice applies across your devices. You can refuse and keep using non-AI care records. Turn it off to stop future AI requests and queued work that has not been sent; it cannot recall an in-flight request or delete saved answers.
Choose Share usage data
This controls pseudonymous app-interaction analytics. Updated mobile builds start optional measurement off and ask for your choice; older builds can retain an earlier setting. It does not include dog names, photos, clips, full reads or chat text. Advertising measurement needs its own separate choice where available and stays off on iPhone. The website and browser app also honour Cookie choices.
Choose Personalised insights
This starts on and lets reads use the dog profile, a small reference photo and the context you add. Turn it off for clip-only reads. Reports and Stories also stop using the dog’s name and personal details for their written insights.
Step by step
Know what happens to a read
The clip and the details needed to finish it stay in private temporary storage on your device and our server while a read is waiting or processing. Those details include your context tags and any dog profile or reference photo allowed by your personalisation setting. Pending captures expire after 24 hours. A completed read saves the result and can have a keepsake photo; the video is not a saved album video.
Cleanup runs in the background after completion, cancellation or expiry. The server checks periodically, and the device copy is removed when Dogoos or its background worker can next run. Force-stopping the app can delay local cleanup, so expiry does not mean every copy disappears at that instant. Backups and soft deletion can retain server copies for up to seven further days.
A separate recovery cache can hold the generated answer so a timed-out retry can recover it without using another read or processing the clip again. It does not retain the submitted clip, photo or prompt. These records expire after 30 days and are then cleaned up in the background. Saved read results and keepsake photos follow the normal account-data rules. The privacy policy sets out the full retention periods and the services involved.

Add a lock on this device
Open Security in Settings
Choose Face ID or fingerprint lock on a supported mobile device. The phone checks your biometric; Dogoos never receives your face or fingerprint.
Keep a connected sign-in
The lock protects this installation. It does not replace your Dogoos sign-in, so secure the account in Personal details before relying on it.
Know the recovery option
If the biometric cannot work, Sign out & clear this device removes this device’s copy and returns you to sign-in. A device PIN does not bypass the biometric lock. You can sign back into a secured account.

Review what Rex remembers
Open Settings → Ask Rex → What Rex remembers to see and delete the notes retained from your conversations. Your chat history and memory notes are separate: deleting a chat does not automatically delete every memory note.
Rex checks before saving controls whether supported journal actions wait for your approval. It starts on. Review the proposed dog, date, time and details before confirming.
When available to your account, the separate Dogoos in ChatGPT connection has its own permissions, including optional photo access. Connecting it is not required to use Rex.

Keep email choices separate
Optional daily or weekly briefs, inactivity reminders and product news start off. Bone Shop receipts have their own switch and also start off. Choose what helps in Settings → Your pack → Email updates. You can change the choices later or use the unsubscribe link in an optional email.
Account security messages, such as password resets and email-change notices, support the action you requested. A message sent through our contact form is an enquiry, not permission for product email.

Download my data and Clear all reads & photos are in the Your data group under Data & personalisation. Clear read history is in Settings’ Privacy & data group. Account deletion is in Personal details.

Does the analytics switch change the AI provider’s terms?
No. Share usage data controls product analytics. The AI services and their treatment of information are explained and linked in the privacy policy.
Where are my app records stored?
App records and private media are stored in European data centres, encrypted in transit and at rest. Some supporting services are global. The privacy policy explains each service and the safeguards.
