Dogoos walkthroughs

Tell Rex about your dog’s day.

Find a place, look back at care or add a meal and a walk in one conversation. Here’s how to check a proposed action and find what you saved.

Step by step

Give Rex the useful details

Open Rex

Tap a Rex chat button, or go to Settings → Ask Rex → Text chat with Rex. Text chat is available on every plan.

Say what you need

Try “Log a 30-minute walk for Biscuit this morning” or “Show my dogs’ recent care”. Names, dates, times and portions help Rex prepare the right action.

Answer a follow-up

If a detail is missing, Rex asks for it. Choosing the dog or supplying a time is part of the conversation; nothing needs saving until the details are clear.

Step by step

Check before saving

Settings → Ask Rex → Rex checks before saving starts on. Supported journal actions wait for your approval. Read the proposed dog, date, time and details, then confirm if they are right.

If they are wrong, tell Rex what to change. A typed request by itself is not proof that a record was saved: wait for the confirmation and open the related activity bubble to check it.

Step by step

Reopen a result without losing the chat

Places, estimates and saved actions have bubbles above the message box. Tap one to revisit its details, such as the recorded meal or activity. Previous conversations are searchable, so you can find an earlier exchange and carry on.

Rex can help explore Fetch and prepare an estimate where a place offers booking. Check the seller, price and policies before approving, and follow the app’s payment steps if they are available. A quote or payment request is not a confirmed booking.

Step by step

Switch to a spoken conversation

Choose Live on Pack Leader

Rex Live is available in the mobile app on Pack Leader. Allow microphone access when you start it.

Talk at your own pace

Rex listens and replies in the same chat. You can interrupt, mute or change to typing. Use Type instead to return to the keyboard.

Review the same details

Live actions still use the confirmation setting and the same care controls. The conversation’s words stay in chat history; Dogoos does not save the live audio.

Step by step

Keep track of your chat allowance

Each account has its own daily Rex chat allowance, resetting at midnight UTC. Longer conversations and more detailed requests can use more of it; there is no fixed number of messages. AI safety limits can also apply.

Your read allowance is separate. If chat is taking a break, you can still use the app’s care screens. Paid plans increase the chat budget as shown on Plans.

Step by step

Choose what Rex keeps

Use Settings → Ask Rex → What Rex remembers to review and delete memory notes. You can manage conversations in chat history too. A conversation and a memory note are separate records.

Dogoos in ChatGPT is a separate private owner pilot. You do not need to connect ChatGPT to use Rex inside Dogoos.

A little more help

Questions you might have

Can Rex choose a medication dose for my dog?

No. Rex can help keep care records, but medication instructions and changes belong with your vet. Check the details you provide before saving a dose or reminder.

What if an action says it failed?

Open the activity bubble and the related care screen to check its status. Follow the message rather than repeatedly asking for the same action. If it still won’t work, use Report a problem or tell our team the message you saw.
